Luke Severson
fair play

Luke Severson’s young career couples a prolific output with an extremely high level of craft. It is readily apparent that his work is informed by deeply seated passions. Generative impulses range from the meditative stillness and intense focus of a mushroom hunt and hotly felt concerns for fairness as it is negotiated and scandalized, vilified, or passed with a surreptitious nod in athletics, professions, agirculture, politics, and war.

The resulting work is an intuitive arrangement of personalized totems and symbols. Dynamic and improvised assembly enlivens the refined craft of each piece.
