A 2014 recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board Visual Artist Initiative Grant, Moira Bateman describes the cleaving of humans and the natural world through dramatic fiber works, topographical explorations, and works created of paper, fiber, and ceramic.

Her forms suggest clothing, maps, bones, artifacts, or reliquaries. The swirls of bison wool and topographic marks evoke the course of routes remembered and upcoming.
