Then from 5 - 7 p.m. Heidi Bartlett will conduct a performance art workshop called Seeing & Being based on La Pocha Nostra live art lab techniques created by Guillermo Gomez-Peña, a prolific Chicano performance artist, writer and educator. It is a 2 hour intensive on performance art with a focus on the human body as a site for creation, reinvention, memory, activism and healing. She will place particular emphasis on the relationship between the human body and the space (Moberg Gallery) where they will be working. At the end of the workshop they will build, with their bodies, an installation that incorporates all of the participants and their unique voices. This amazing cross-disciplinary and cross-generational laboratory hosts up to 24 participants.
The attendance for the workshop is $5 and limited to 24 participants, so if you purchase a ticket and cannot attend, please allow us to offer it to a waiting list.
The workshop is sponsored by Nova Labs in Ames and Chicken Tractor.
