Alex Braidwood is a sound artist, designer, and educator who maintains a practice centered around a process of play, experimentation and research through making. Recently, he has been an artist in residence in an Australian National Park, on an Iowa farm and at a mid-western biological field research station. Alex is currently Assistant Professor in the Graphic Design, Masters in Sustainable Design and Human Computer Interaction PhD programs at Iowa State University and is Director of the Artist-in-Residence program at the Iowa Lakeside Laboratory biological field research station.
Based in Des Moines, Brent Holland is an Iowa artist and educator who combines digital and traditional media applications to create mixed-media paintings and drawings. Using both figurative representation and formal abstraction, his work responds to his fascination with the inexhaustible visual diversity of his surroundings – from the details of the human body to cluttered studio spaces, architectural drawings, and urban graffiti walls. His award winning artwork is exhibited widely and is in public and private collections across the nation. Holland is represented by Olson-Larsen Galleries.
Levi Robb (1986) is a visual artist, printmaker, and industrial designer who lives and works in Des Moines. He studied architecture and design at Iowa State University. His studio's work is influenced by human interface with environment, landscape and atmosphere. The work concentrates on contextual investigations of labor and regionalism within the boundaries of form, space, palette, light, material and time. His work has been exhibited in New York City and throughout the Midwest, and is in both public and private collections. His prints are represented at Olson Larsen Galleries.
Catherine Dreiss is a practitioner of what New York Times art critic Michael Kimmelman calls the “Cinderella Art” – printmaking. For over 20 years, she has worked almost exclusively on screen prints and woodcuts that are based on images from Art History and appropriated patterns. Caye's work is represented through Moberg Galleries.
Trained as a printmaker, Mary Jones is a scavenger of technologies old and new. Current projects involve walking, looking, and documenting in many mediums. Jones has a tendency to get involved in collaborative projects. Mary is represented at Moberg Galleries.
